Southwinds Marine is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking AZ Driver / Yard Worker to join our team.
This position involves transporting boats, primarily between our marina and storage facilities in the Collingwood area, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will also be occasional trips to the GTA and other locations throughout Ontario.
If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a busy marine environment, we'd love to hear from you. We are looking for a physically fit individual who is willing to assist in all areas of the operation, including boat hauling, yard work, shrink-wrapping, general maintenance, and cleanup duties as required.
This is a seasonal position. Employment typically runs from spring through late fall, with a seasonal layoff period from December through March.
Starting wage is $24.00 per hour, with the opportunity for a wage increase after a three-month review based on performance, work ethic, and overall contribution to the team. We are willing to pay more for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
Job Responsibilities
- Transport boats safely and professionally using company vehicles and equipment
- Perform local deliveries and occasional longer-distance trips
- Assist with boat launching and hauling operations
- Help with shrink-wrapping boats during the fall season
- General yard maintenance and cleanup
- Assist marina and service staff with various tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Valid AZ Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
- Experience towing and hauling trailers
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to perform a variety of duties when driving is not required
Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime as required
