ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the organization's grounds, landscaping, roads, and outdoor facilities in a clean, safe, and attractive condition. This role performs routine grounds maintenance, seasonal cleanup, minor repairs, and general property upkeep while supporting the overall operation of the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cut lawns
Trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and buildings.
Perform weed eating, leaf clearing, raking, mulching, and pruning as required.
Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling from designated areas.
Split, stack, and move firewood.
Move equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials as needed.
Assist with the installation and setup of outdoor furniture and equipment.
Perform painting and occasional carpentry or minor repair work.
Maintain roads, grounds, trails, firewood areas, and other outdoor spaces.
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
Assist with seasonal projects and other property maintenance tasks as assigned.
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Solid work ethic, ability for strenuous physical labour (pushing, lifting, etc.)
Experience in handy work, landscaping, lawn mowing are all great assets.
A valid driver’s license (G1, G2, G) is preferred.
16+ years of age

Quick on feet, quick responding and can handle crises.
Able to liaison effectively with guests and program participants;
Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy by being aware of your responsibilities and act accordingly; working in the safest possible manner,
Maintain safe and clean facilities environment by developing, enforcing and complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Be a connected member of the MBC staff team, supporting all departments as team members, extending grace and responding with respect.

Compensation

$18.00 per hour
