Wonderwise Early Learning is a cozy boutique brand located in the Trinity Hills development at the base of Canada Olympic Park at the edge of northwest Calgary bordering 16th Ave/Stoney Trail North. Students from 19 months through 5.5 years at entry enjoy a mix of small group, teacher-guided invitations and creative, loose-part, and tabletop activity explorations that embrace the principles of Alberta's FLIGHT Framework for early childhood best practices.
We are assisting a family in our Centre to secure a one-on-one aide starting in July for a 5 year old male student. The child is very positive, friendly and easy to work with; they are non-verbal. The successful candidate must be willing to assist with toileting (standing changes of PullUps as needed) and support the child to participate fully in regular class activities (crafts, outdoor time, etc.). As the child is larger for their age, we do require the successful candidate to be physically fit and able to lift 40 pounds / be comfortable to move a child around who is taller. The hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30AM - 1PM.
We want fun, positive people who are outgoing, professional, and bring their best selves to work. You do not have to have an ECE certification in Alberta, however, you must have some related training (social work, occupational therapy, etc.) if you do not have an ECE certificate. We welcome international or university students if you are seeking a career in working with children with specialized needs or are enrolled in a program that is aligned with this career path.
You must be already living in the Calgary area, and cannot need work permit sponsorship.
Dress is casual. Our classrooms are bright and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows in all rooms, warm, neutral decor, and plenty of storage! :) Our on-site management team are ECEs themselves and work hard to support our Wonderwise team professionally and transparently to create a collaborative environment.
All applicants are required to hold or be able to secure a current Calgary police background check. You will be required to take a First Aid course if you do not have a current certificate.
