Full job description

COMPANY

Alta-Fab, based in Nisku, Alberta, provides high-quality modular buildings, designed to meet the industrial, public-space, and housing needs of any industry. We manufacture and service structures for markets that require personalized quality modular units. Year round indoor work.

***We are looking for experienced carpenters with 5 years + experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
Prepare layouts and patterns using measuring tools, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work to measure and mark materials
Installation of cabinets, countertops
Install steel and wood doors/frames and hardware
Install small and large appliances (microwaves, fridges)
Install electronics (stereos, speakers, DVD, surround systems)
Insulate and panel interior walls
Cut panels to size
Cut out rough openings for outlets, waterlines, etc
Accurately cut, measure, and shape various materials as required
Recognize and identify quality issues in material and building procedures
Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and work from sketches
Proficient and able to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials required of the trade
Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting as an effective learner / listener
Currently indentured and apprenticing in the Apprentice and Industry Training Alberta considered an asset
Skilled in the residential construction, repair, restoration and installation techniques for assigned work projects
Ability to work in a physical demanding position and a fast paced team environment
Ability to work in an indoor confined work area environment
Current Fall Arrest certificate would be considered an asset
Experience within modular construction and renovation industry an asset.
Position requires vehicle to drive to an from Nisku on a daily basis
Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
