Full job description

Budget Basket is a growing discount grocery store committed to providing quality products at affordable prices. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and physically active team member to join our warehouse and store operations team.

This role combines shipping & receiving, product preparation, warehouse organization, and general store support.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and unload incoming deliveries.
Organize, rotate, and maintain warehouse inventory.
Prepare outgoing shipments and store transfers.
Portion, cut, package, and label products such as meat, cheese, and other grocery items.
Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Assist with stocking shelves and replenishing merchandise.
Support the store team with general labour duties and heavy lifting as needed.
Keep warehouse and backroom areas clean, organized, and safe.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in warehouse, grocery, food production, shipping/receiving, or a similar environment is considered an asset.
Forklift experience is a strong asset.
Valid forklift certification is preferred; however, training and certification can be provided to the right candidate.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments when required.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
Occasionally assist with moving heavier products using proper team lifting techniques and material handling equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
