It's a family-owned Mexican food restaurant recognized for its authentic dishes, great atmosphere, and excellent customer service. We're seeking Servers to continue operating at our high standards and join our incredible team.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and a passion for the food industry, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. As a Server, you will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and providing outstanding guest services in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Role and responsibilities
What are some of the core activities you'll be performing?
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly demeanor.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS system, preferably Touch Bistro POS.
- Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials, loyalty program and recommendations to enhance the dining experience through effective upselling techniques.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including tables, utensils, and serving stations.
- Ensure tables are clean, organized, and fully set before guests arrive
- Clear tables promptly and scrape and sort plates, glassware, and cutlery for dishwashing
- Assist with polishing cutlery, glassware, and service items to maintain presentation standards
- Restock service stations (napkins, condiments, takeout supplies, etc.)
- Refill beverages, sauces, and front-of-house supplies as needed
- Sweep and mop floors in dining and service areas
- Wipe down tables, chairs, booths, and high-touch surfaces
- Clean and maintain guest washrooms
- Assist with garbage removal and recycling
- Reset and set up tables for the next day’s service
- Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and guest-ready before leaving
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist in food preparation as needed and support kitchen operations during peak hours.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality by creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Requirements:
What will it take to become our ideal candidate?
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a solid understanding of food service operations.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash accurately.
- Experience with POS systems is highly desirable; familiarity with Touch Bistro is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices within the kitchen and dining areas is important.
