Position Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented Fiberglass Finishing Technicians to join our production team. This role focuses on the final surface finishing and repair of fiberglass pool shells before they leave the factory. The ideal candidate has experience in fiberglass repair, automotive refinishing, marine repair, or professional buffing and polishing, and takes pride in producing high-quality cosmetic finishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair cosmetic defects on finished pool shells including cracks, chips, pinholes, and surface imperfections
- Sand, grind, and prepare fiberglass surfaces for gelcoat touch-ups
- Apply gelcoat to repaired areas and blend color to match existing finishes
- Buff and polish surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, seamless appearance
- Inspect finished pool shells to ensure quality standards are met
- Work with production and quality teams to correct finish defects prior to final approval
- Maintain organized tools, materials, and work areas using 5S principles
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and styrene exposure controls
- Support the finishing team in meeting production and quality targets
Qualifications
- Experience in fiberglass repair, automotive bodywork, marine repair, or gelcoat finishing preferred
- Skilled with sanding, grinding, buffing, polishing, and surface finishing techniques
- Ability to color match and perform cosmetic surface repairs
- Comfortable using DA (Dual Action) sanders, polishers, grinders, and hand tools
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on large fiberglass structures
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team
- Willing to follow established SOPs, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that is noisy, fiberglass, resins, dust, and chemicals
- Valid Working at Heights certification required

Schedule
- Full-time position
