With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The Human Resources Coordinator (7-month contract) possesses excellent communication skills and has reception responsibilities as well as provides administrative and functional support to all departments, mainly supporting Human Resources and Payroll. The Human Resources Coordinator will present a professional attitude when dealing with both internal and external contacts and will endeavor to create a team atmosphere.
NOTE: This position will be located in Belleville, ON
You will:
- Provide administrative support for the Belleville facility as required, including front desk coverage and assistance to payroll and administrative teams.
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate scheduling, and onboarding support.
- Monitor, track, and maintain records of daily attendance calls.
- Assist with the organization, filing, and maintenance of employee and human resources records.
- Manage incoming and outgoing courier services and related documentation.
- Provide support to the Human Resources department across a variety of HR initiatives and activities.
- Coordinate employee events, meetings, training sessions, lunches, and other engagement activities as required.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide assistance with HR-related concerns and administrative requests.
- Enter and maintain labour allocation data within payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide backup coverage for the Payroll Administrator, including support with full-cycle payroll processing.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
You Have:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources or related program.
- 1-2 years of related experience within a unionized manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Possess excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Be committed working within a team environment
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
