Position Description: The IT Technician – Level 1 configures, diagnoses, & maintains end-user systems, networks, utilizes time and resources in an efficient manner, and solves technical problems as and when needed. Always security focused.
Key Duties:
- Information Technology
- Assist in developing a comprehensive knowledge base (customer details, processes, procedures & best practices)
- Establish and maintain detailed notes for each customer site and service call
- Diagnosis & repair of walk-in service calls (computers, servers, peripherals, networks, programs & software)
- Diagnosis & repair of on-site service calls (computers, servers, peripherals, networks, programs & software)
- Remote support using various tools recommended by the company.
- Deploy, manage and support: devices, PCs & notebook computers, wired & wireless networks
- Identify, diagnose and resolve basic to intermediate network issues
- Comply with standard policies and procedures
- Real-time update of work orders, and closure of completed calls
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes, along with possible solutions
- Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
- Generate ideas for improving technical products
- Regular monitoring of email and communication channels
- Seek up-selling opportunities with existing clients for new equipment, network upgrades and service contracts
- In-shop housekeeping: ensure personal and common work areas are stocked, cleaned and tidy
- Learn new technologies and maintain working industry knowledge
Working Conditions: Primarily Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00PM, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed by the business. This position may require physical work, such as climbing ladders, lifting up to 75lbs, and moving office equipment. This position may require driving to customer sites.
