Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and upkeep of all production machinery, utilities, and facility systems in HVAC manufacturing plant. This includes preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of assembly lines, testing equipment, and plant utilities such as compressed air, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for production equipment and utilities.
- Perform routine inspections, lubrication, calibration, and servicing.
- Use predictive maintenance techniques where applicable
- Maintain maintenance logs and checklists.
2. Breakdown Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system failures.
- Minimize downtime through quick fault diagnosis and corrective action.
- Support production teams during emergency breakdowns.
3. Equipment Maintenance
Maintain machines such as:
- Brazing stations and gas systems
- Tube cutting, bending, and forming machines
- Assembly conveyors and fixtures
- Leak testing and charging machines
- Refrigeration test rigs
4. Electrical & Control Systems
- Troubleshoot motors, contactors, relays, sensors, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Maintain electrical panels, wiring, and control circuits.
5. Utilities & Facility Maintenance
Maintain plant utilities such as:
- Air compressors and compressed air lines
- Chilled water systems / cooling towers
- Power distribution systems
- Ventilation and exhaust systems
Ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities to production.
6. Calibration & Testing Equipment Support
- Support calibration of gauges, sensors, and testing instruments.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of production test equipment.
7. Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory of critical spares and consumables.
- Raise requisitions and track usage of spare parts.
- Support vendor coordination for specialized repairs.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety procedures
- Ensure safe handling of electrical systems, pressurized equipment, and gases.
- Comply with regulatory and company safety standards.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with HVAC manufacturing equipment.
- Basic understanding of PLCs and automation systems.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Experience: 3–7 years of experience in maintenance within manufacturing (preferably HVAC or similar industry).
