Sales & Marketing Manager — Full-Time Remote (Canada)
Startup experience required
About Us
CleverOrca and StudentRDH are two growing EdTech brands helping students pass licensing exams in dental hygiene, vet tech, practical nursing, sonography, and other allied health fields. Our mission is to help students feel confident and pass their exams using brain-based learning and smart technology.
We're a small, fast-moving team, not a corporate environment. Our marketing needs evolve quickly, and we need someone who loves building strategy, planning how to sell, and driving revenue.
The Role
You are the person who decides what we do and how we do it. You'll own the strategy for how we sell our digital products online (the funnels, the campaigns, the offers, the messaging) and you'll turn that thinking into clear plans.
You have a small team who handle much of the execution: building automations, scheduling emails, setting up landing pages. But we're a small company, so this isn't a hands-off role: some weeks you'll roll up your sleeves and build things yourself. The difference is that the strategy and the plan always come from you, and execution is shared, not dumped entirely on your team or entirely on you.
This is ideal for someone who thinks like a strategist and sells like an operator, someone who can look at a product, design the path to revenue, and both direct a team and get hands-on to make it real.
If you thrive on creativity, autonomy, and ownership, you'll love it here. If you prefer rigid hierarchies and fixed processes, this won't be the right fit.
What You'll Own
Sales & Growth Strategy
- Design how we sell our digital products online: funnels, offers, pricing, and customer journeys
- Grow conversions and market share across the U.S. and Canada
- Build go-to-market plans for new brands and product lines
- Map the full path: awareness → conversion → retention
- Take what already works in StudentRDH and adapt it across our other brands
Revenue & Results
- Own the marketing-driven revenue target across our brands and report on it directly to leadership
- Turn our growth goals into a clear plan for hitting the number, and own the outcome, not just the activity
- Know what's working at any given time, and be ready to say what you're doing about what isn't
Brand & Positioning
- Own how our brands sound and position themselves.
- Sharpen the messaging so the right students immediately understand why we're the way to pass their exam
- Keep positioning consistent across every channel and campaign
Planning & Direction
- Turn strategy into clear execution plans your team can follow
- Direct the team on what to build: automations, email sequences, landing pages, campaigns, and set the priorities
- Decide what gets tested, scaled, or cut based on data
Growth Experiments
- Test new channels, offers, and messaging with fast, small experiments
- Use results to decide where to double down
You'll have a team to share the load on execution, but as a small company, everyone builds when it's needed, including you. What's non-negotiable is that the strategic thinking and the plan are yours.
Who You Are
Experience
- 5–8+ years in digital marketing with a strong sales focus
- Experience in startups or small teams (under 20 people)
- Comfortable leading strategy and getting hands-on—you direct the team on most execution, but you're happy to build things yourself when the moment calls for it
- Background in e-commerce, EdTech, D2C, SaaS, online learning, or consumer digital brands
Skills
- You know how to sell digital products online and can design the funnels and campaigns to do it
- You can plan a customer journey from first touch to purchase to retention
- You understand how to reach and convert a Gen Z audience, the channels, the messaging, the platforms (TikTok, IG, short-form, email)
- You switch easily between big-picture strategy and hands-on planning
- You prioritize, simplify, and move fast with minimal structure
Values
We put the right people in the right seats, people who want to grow, contribute meaningfully, and care about student success. Our core values: we grow the business, we take extreme ownership, we're humble and respectful, we bring a can-do attitude, and we're adaptable and fast.
Travel
You'll travel to conferences in the U.S. and Canada 3–5 times per year. If you're not comfortable traveling to the U.S., this role isn't for you.
