Our busy waterfront restaurant in Blind Bay, BC is looking for an experienced Sous Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager to support leadership of back-of-house operations throughout the season.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution, team support, prep organization, food quality, and service flow. You’ll play a key role in helping implement systems, maintain standards, and support a positive, accountable kitchen culture.
This is a seasonal leadership position (April–October) with opportunity for long-term growth as our business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily kitchen leadership during prep and service
- Assist with line execution, expediting, and quality control
- Help maintain prep systems, pars, organization, and operational readiness
- Train and mentor line cooks and prep staff
- Support food cost control through portioning, waste reduction, and inventory practices
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards are maintained
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Kitchen Manager
- Help foster a positive, professional, and accountable team environment
- Work collaboratively with FOH management to ensure smooth service execution
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5+ years in a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or senior line cook leadership role
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced kitchens
- Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented leader willing to coach and support others
- Strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
- Red Seal certification considered an asset but not required
- Experience with inventory, prep systems, and ordering considered an asset

- Help execute a newly redesigned menu and updated kitchen systems
- Support consistent food quality during high-volume service
