About Us

Defender LTL is a locally owned and growing company built on reliability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. As we continue to grow, we're looking to add another member to our accounting team who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to become an integral part of our daily operations.

This position is primarily responsible for accounts receivable and customer billing but will receive training across all accounting functions to provide support wherever needed. If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and working as part of a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Accounts Receivable & Billing

Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and on time
Submit invoices through customer portals and various billing platforms
Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts
Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections and customer inquiries
Resolve billing discrepancies and maintain accurate customer account records

General Accounting

Enter and code vendor invoices
Assist with accounts payable and vendor payment processing
Assist with payroll preparation and related administrative tasks
Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records
Provide backup and assistance with other accounting and administrative functions as required

What We're Looking For

Accounting education or equivalent accounting experience
Experience with accounts receivable, billing, or general accounting is preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Experience with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Axon, or similar) is considered an asset
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
A positive attitude and willingness to learn all aspects of the accounting department
