Full job description

Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

Secondary School Diploma
Successful completion of Public Health Ontario’s Environmental Toolkit based on the Best Practices for Environmental Cleaning for Prevention and Control of Infections, PIDAC 2018, within one month of start date.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work well with others in an interdisciplinary team environment.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work and complete workload assignments with minimal supervision.
Must complete workload assignments with a high degree of attention to detail and thoroughness throughout areas of assignment.
Show an eagerness and capacity to adapt to change.
Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position.
Individual must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position which include lifting, standing, walking and the operation of various equipment for long periods of time.
As a condition of employment, external hires are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

Previous environmental aide experience in a healthcare facility is considered an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location: South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH). Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Department: Support Services

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
