Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet company standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and experience in manufacturing processes to contribute to a dynamic production environment. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely within a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare metal parts and surfaces for coating by cleaning, masking, and sanding as necessary
Operate powder coating equipment with precision to ensure even application of coatings
Use cranes, forklifts, and other machinery to handle large or heavy components safely
Maintain and troubleshoot coating equipment to ensure optimal performance
Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times
Assist with assembly or machining tasks as needed within the production line
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by adhering to process standards and identifying areas for improvement

Qualifications

Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or machining environments preferred
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, and assembly processes
Experience operating cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment is a plus
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and quality checks
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous
Ability to work safely around machinery and adhere to safety guidelines
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Prior experience in powder coating or finishing processes is desirable but not required
