Reporting to the Accounting Team Lead, the Bilingual Accountant (French and English) will be responsible for maintaining accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, preparing month-end and year-end financial reporting, and performing analysis across the Balance Sheet and Income Statement. This role will also provide exposure to a broad range of finance and accounting activities, which may vary based on organizational needs. These responsibilities may include accounting submissions, intercompany processes, treasury and cash flow management, corporate tax compliance, and record-to-report activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong adaptability, and shows a clear desire for continuous learning and growth.
This remote-based position must be located in Ontario or Quebec.
Job Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly General Ledger (GL) reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies.
-
Maintain the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) register and record monthly depreciation.
-
Post bi-monthly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related bank payments and intercompany cross-charges.
-
Prepare and submit sales tax filings to federal and provincial authorities (GST/QST and PST).
-
Review and post pre-authorized debits to support daily bank reconciliation activities.
-
Execute month-end close activities, including analysis and posting entries to high-risk accounts to ensure complete and accurate financial records.
-
Prepare key month-end and year-end reporting deliverables, ensuring accurate, timely, and detailed financial reporting.
-
Maintain clear documentation and perform reconciliations with various government agencies, including payments, interest, penalties, and quarterly certifications.
-
Support and participate in external audits (CRA and Revenue Québec), ensuring timely resolution and closure of audit findings.

Calculate and record monthly unrealized foreign exchange gains and losses.
-
Develop and enhance financial models and reporting tools and contribute to management of commentary and financial analysis presentations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, GL, Treasury, and corporate functions) to support financial reporting and operational needs.

Work independently to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, sometimes with limited supervision.

Assist with and, where appropriate, lead ad hoc initiatives and special projects assigned by management.
Education and Experience required:
-
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
-
At least 3 years of experience in a comparable accounting role, encompassing General Ledger reconciliations, month‑end close.

Demonstrated expertise in applying accounting principles and best practices within medium to large, matrixed organizational environments.
Knowledge and Skills required:

Bilingual in French and English (spoken, written, and read).

Preferred qualifications

Sales tax filing experience (GST/QST, PST) preferred.

Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) completed or in progress, preferred.

Responsabilités du poste :

Préparer les rapprochements mensuels du grand livre général (GL), enquêter sur les écarts et les résoudre rapidement.
-
Tenir à jour le registre des dépenses en immobilisations (CAPEX) et inscrire la dépréciation mensuelle.
-
Comptabiliser les écritures de paie bimensuelles et rapprocher les paiements bancaires liés à la paie et les débits internes intersociétés.
-
Préparer et soumettre les déclarations de taxes de vente aux autorités fédérales et provinciales (TPS/TVQ et TVP).
-
Vérifier et comptabiliser les prélèvements automatiques afin de faciliter les activités quotidiennes de rapprochement bancaire.
-
Effectuer les opérations de clôture de fin de mois, y compris l'analyse et la comptabilisation des écritures sur les comptes à haut risque afin d’assurer l'exhaustivité et l'exactitude des registres financiers.

Préparer les principaux rapports de fin de mois et de fin d'exercice en veillant à ce que les rapports financiers soient exacts, ponctuels et détaillés.
-
Tenir une documentation claire et effectuer les rapprochements avec divers organismes gouvernementaux, notamment en ce qui concerne les paiements, les intérêts, les pénalités et les certifications trimestrielles.

Apporter son soutien et participer aux audits externes (ARC et Revenu Québec) en veillant à la résolution et à la clôture en temps opportun des constatations d’audit.
-
Calculer et inscrire les gains et pertes de change mensuels non réalisés.
-
Concevoir et améliorer des modèles financiers et des outils de création de rapports et contribuer à la préparation des commentaires et des présentations d'analyses financières.
-
Collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles (notamment les services partagés, les comptes clients, les comptes fournisseurs, les immobilisations, la comptabilité générale, la trésorerie et les fonctions d’organisation) afin de répondre aux besoins en matière de rapports financiers et d'opérations.

Travailler de manière autonome pour gérer plusieurs priorités dans un milieu dynamique, parfois avec un encadrement limité.

Participer à des initiatives ponctuelles et à des projets spéciaux attribués par la direction et, le cas échéant, les piloter.
Education et Expérience requises:

Baccalauréat en comptabilité ou en finance.

Au moins 3 années d'expérience à un poste semblable en comptabilité comprenant des activités de rapprochement avec le grand livre et de clôture mensuelle.

Salary ranges have been implemented to reward associates fairly and competitively, as well as to support recognition of associates’ progress, ranging from entry level to experts in their field, and talent mobility. There are many factors that contribute to the range displayed. The range displayed iscomprisedof wages, which includes base salary and commission, as well as certain components of our bonus programs.
