WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
· 5+ years automotive related project or program management experience.
· Excellent communication skills
· Problem solving abilities
· Ability to work in a team setting or individually with minimal supervision
· Undergraduate degree as a minimum or equivalent experience.
· Automotive and/or plastics experience preferred.
ACCOUNTABILITIES OF JOB FUNCTION:
Utilizing the customer’s requirements, the incumbent will be responsible to engineer, design develop and present product or product system which fully meets the design criteria within the cost, timing and quality objectives of the program.
The individual will engage in problem solving and supporting the customer on already developed/existing programs and work towards performance and cost improvements.
Also, to contribute to a co-operative work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

1. QUALITY
· Responsible for ensuring that their finished products meet established quality assurance specifications.
2. PRODUCT TECHNICAL REVIEWS
· Prepare product reviews for customer engineering/purchasing.
· Organize the required people to prepare for these reviews.
3. DESIGN ENGINEERING
· To design and engineer new products; also, approve designs and drawings by design personnel.
· In conjunction with Sales staff, provide support and liaison with Customer’s Engineering and design personnel if necessary.
· To prepare Product and Process feasibility studies and all other documentation required supporting customer expectations.
· In conjunction with Sales, to prepare detailed product and tooling cost quotations in response to Customer inquiries.
4. MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING
· To manage new product tooling programs and supervises tooling try-outs and sample preparation for submission to customers.
· To analyze and implement on-going process improvements to improve production efficiencies and product quality.
· To manage A.Q.P. (Advance Quality Programs) meetings.
· To ensure all new moulds and secondary tooling meet established quality control specifications.
· To assist, where required, Quality and Production departments in troubleshooting and problem analysis in conjunction with any issues of quality or production efficiency.
5. COMMUNICATIONS
· To ensure that immediate Supervisor is continually and fully informed of all job- related matters.
· To actively communicate job information to other personnel concerned, thereby eliminating misunderstanding.
· To seek out necessary information required to accomplish job responsibilities.
· To advise the production supervisory group of the design, build, delivery, etc. status of new tooling and/or product equipment.
HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations
- Use any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer
- Tell the employer or supervisor about any known missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous
- Not remove or make ineffective any protective devices required by the employer or by the regulations
- Report to his/ her Supervisor all incidents, accidents and or hazards
- Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees
- Conserve natural resources, safely use and dispose of hazardous materials, minimize the Company’s environmental footprint.
- Be accountable on a daily basis for upholding the spirit and intent of the Environmental Policy and the Environmental Management System.
- Receive appropriate training, follow EMS procedures and ensure that operational activities are carried out with consideration of protection of environment and environmental impacts are minimized.
SECURITY AND HOUSEKEEPING
- To ensure all business related documents are retained, at all times, in a secure manner.
- Do not permit entry to any unauthorized person (s) on company facility. Report any suspicious activity, unidentified person or any such security risks to management immediately.
- When leaving or entering the building verify that the door is locked behind you and is not propped open.
- Report key-card loss immediately to the Human Resources designate.
- Ensure that your work area is a clean and safe workplace at all times.
- Must not disclose to any person without the Company’s consent, any information concerning its inventions, processes, methods, trade secrets or secret procedures owned or used by the Company or any confidential information in any way relating to the Company’s business or affairs.
