Field Service Technician – HOCl Water Treatment Systems

OmniLyte is growing, and we’re adding a new Field Service Technician to our team. This is a newly created position that offers the opportunity to join an expanding company working with innovative green water-treatment technology.
As our Field Service Technician, you’ll become a key technical resource for customers using OmniLyte’s commercial and industrial HOCl (Hypochlorous Acid) generation systems.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for the assembly, installation, commissioning, service, and ongoing support of OmniLyte HOCl generation systems. Your work will include:
· Assembling, installing, commissioning, and starting up ECA Electrolysis systems, RO Systems, Ozone Systems, Automation control Panels.
· Performing scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
· Diagnosing and repairing equipment at customer locations.
· Troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs, VFDs, power supplies, rectifiers, pumps, solenoid valves, flow meters, sensors, electrical panels, and network communications.
· Calibrating instrumentation and process controls.
· Testing and verifying generator performance.
· Replacing components such as electrodes, pumps, valves, sensors, relays, and electrical hardware.
· Preparing detailed field service reports.
· Training customer operators and providing technical guidance.
· Supporting customers remotely by phone and video when required.
· Working with engineering to identify opportunities for product improvements.
· Maintaining service vehicle inventory and spare parts.
· Assisting with factory acceptance testing as required.
· Following established electrical and safety procedures.
· This position requires approximately 50% travel throughout Canada and the United States.
· Travel can include overnight stays and multi-day service trips. Candidates must have a valid passport and a valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
What You Bring
· Electrical Engineering Technologist, Industrial Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, Millwright or equivalent technical education and experience
· 3 - 5 years of field service experience and strong industrial electrical troubleshooting capabilities. You should also be comfortable reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
· Experience with any combination of the following would be valuable:
o PLCs, with Unitronics experience considered an asset
o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
o Ethernet/IP and Modbus communications
o Industrial control panels
o Water-treatment equipment
o Pumps and controls
o Instrumentation
o Industrial automation
· Experience with HOCl generation, electrochlorination, chemical dosing, reverse osmosis, or other water-treatment systems would be particularly valuable.
· Just as important, you’re someone who can work independently, communicate confidently with customers, and stay focused on finding solutions.
· Comfortable in industrial environments and able to lift up to 50 lb/23 kg.
