The Department of Pediatrics in Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a full-time General Pediatrician to be located in Brandon, Manitoba. Brandon currently has two community-based pediatricians and three itinerant pediatricians who provide full hospital services 24/7.
We seek a candidate who will combine office-based pediatric practice with hospital practice, including NICU, inpatient care and emergency consultation services. The successful candidate will also share the on-call rota in the hospital.
Brandon Regional Health Centre is a satellite campus for the University of Manitoba and the Rady Faculty of Medicine. It offers the opportunity to contribute to the teaching/mentoring of medical learners. We are a fully accredited multi-specialty facility with a 300+ bed capacity and are currently undergoing a $110 million expansion of our inpatient care facilities, expected to be completed by 2026. Brandon also has many opportunities to join existing clinics within the city.
As the second largest city in Manitoba, with a population of 55,000 and growing, Brandon is the main hub and referral site for southwestern Manitoba, with a catchment area of approximately 200,000.
We provide full obstetrical services with a full complement of obstetricians, providing 24/7 in-house coverage. There is an 11-bed NICU (to be expanded). Diagnostic services include full-service radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine. A wide range of specialist services are available, including general surgery, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and intensivists. We also provide 24/7 hospitalist services as well as 24/7 internal medicine services. We have a full-service Emergency Department with a full complement of ER physicians 24/7.

Remuneration
Remuneration will be fee-for-service. Rates are paid in accordance with the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living negotiated rates.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree specializing in Pediatrics.
The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba.
Additional training in neonatology would be an asset.

Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options, including the Institute of Culinary Arts. Robertson College and the Manitoba Emergency Services College are also located in Brandon. Riding Mountain National Park is one hour north of the city, and the Peace Gardens on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south and Spruce Woods Provincial Park 30 minutes to the East.
