Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition Services, the Menu Clerk is responsible for all computer operations related to menu processing. Processing of diet orders, meal tickets, menus and reports for patients on regular and therapeutic diets according to established procedures to ensure all patients receive appropriate feedings, meals and/or nourishment.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary duties include assisting with patient complaints re. diets and meals and take appropriate action, in conjunction with the Dieticians Food Service Supervisors and Manager. Process diet orders, discharges, transfers and update all records with time commitments for meal service. Process ward reports from nursing units and update computer re: changes in diet orders, new admissions, discharges, and calculates and prepare tube-feeding reports. Print menus, meal tickets, nourishment labels, tallies and other reports. Input patient's menus dislikes and preference to ensure compliance with the diet order and department procedures.

Mandatory Qualifications

Secondary School diploma
Brant County Health Unit Food Handler's Certificate
Current (within 2 years) experience in related Institutional Food Services or diet related field.
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows based systems Word, Excel
Knowledge of Meditech and Med Dietary an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills
Excellent attendance record
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously
Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
Criminal Record Check required
