Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Director of Maintenance to lead our maintenance operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing maintenance strategies, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting our company's mission to provide reliable logistics services. Join us to make a significant impact in a dynamic industry.

This role is based in Brantford but will require regular travel to our Etobicoke facility.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures aligned with industry standards.
Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance.
Optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs including performing analysis and forecasting on current and future needs. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments complying with negotiated lease agreements.
Oversee the management of CMMS systems for scheduling and tracking maintenance activities.
Coordinate with Operations to minimize downtime.
Manage budgets and resources for maintenance projects.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Analyze equipment performance data to predict and prevent failures.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. electrical, HVAC, control panels, etc.) and check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm, security systems).
Inspects and repairs electrical, plumbing, equipment or janitorial problems.
Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
Manage insurance plans and service contracts.
Maintain financial and non-financial records.
Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
Allocate office space according to needs

Qualifications

Proven management and leadership experience in industrial or warehouse maintenance.
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Mechanical knowledge with expertise in industrial maintenance.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics.
Strong leader with excellent organizational skills, efficiency and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in CMMS software.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Supervising experience in a fast-paced environment.
Thorough understanding of, and works in compliance with, HACCP and SQF programs.
