Position Overview
Hunky Dory is seeking friendly, confident, and reliable Cashiers (POS)/Food Counter Attendant to join our seasonal team. As the first point of contact for guests, the Cashier plays a critical role in setting the tone, pace, and flow of service—especially during busy peak periods.
This position reports directly to the Café Manager and works closely with the Assistant Manager and Supervisor to keep service smooth and welcoming.
What You’ll Do
● Welcome and greet customers
● Guide guests through the menu and service process
● Manage line flow to keep service efficient and organized
● Practice natural upselling to enhance the guest experience
● Handle guest feedback and concerns calmly and professionally
● Communicate clearly with Supervisor and team members
● Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is low
● Support opening and closing duties
● Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards
● Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
● Prepare special ice cream creations
● Consolidating orders and ensuring accurate hand off to customers
● Receiving, handling, replenishing and processing incoming products
● Assisting with set-up for events
● Respond quickly and courteously to customers needs, questions, comments, or concerns with answers and/or action.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
● Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
● Confident communicator with a guest-first mindset
● Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
● Comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people
● Willingness to learn menu knowledge and local area information
● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
● Willingness to assist with duties beyond the core role
Schedule & Availability
● 4–10 hour shifts
● Day and late afternoon shifts
● Weekdays, weekends, and holidays required
● Operating Hours:
○ Mon–Wed: 9:00am–5:00pm
○ Thurs–Sun: 9:00am–6:00pm
Education & Experience
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Customer service experience (preferred)
● Experience in food service, retail, tourism, or hospitality (asset)
● Food Safe Certification and/or Responsible Beverage Server (asset)
Location & Transportation

● Reliable transportation required
