Full job description

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting Kitchen Helpers / Sous Chefs on behalf of one of our valued clients in Chester, NS. We are looking for motivated individuals with kitchen experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy kitchen with an immediate start available.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and cooking
Prepare menu items on both the hot and cold line
Support plating and food presentation during service
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
Work closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of kitchen, line cook, kitchen helper, or sous chef experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Schedule

Start Date: As early as next week (ASAP)
Contract Length: 3–4 months
Schedule is determined by the client based on business needs
Shifts may include:
10:30 AM – 10:30 PM (up to 12-hour shifts)
Split shifts (10:30 AM – 4:00 PM and evening shift)
Operation runs 7 days per week, including weekends

Requirements

Non-slip shoes (required)
Apron (required)
Hairnet provided by the client
Dress code: T-shirt and shorts that extend to the knees

Pay Rate

$25.00 per hour
Opportunity for immediate start
Temporary contract lasting approximately 3–4 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs
