SWR Plumbing & Drain Service Ltd. is a family-owned company that has proudly served the Lower Mainland since 1970. We specialize in plumbing, drainage, hydro-jetting, camera inspections, excavation, emergency services, CIPP, and trenchless pipe rehabilitation.
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager who will oversee our field operations, support our established drainage division, lead the growth of our plumbing department, and assist with the continued development of our new CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe Relining) services.
This position reports directly to the CEO.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise field technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and customer service excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Assist technicians with technical troubleshooting and job-related challenges.
Plumbing Department Growth
- Lead the growth and expansion of the Plumbing Department.
- Identify opportunities to increase plumbing service revenue and profitability.
- Implement systems and processes that improve plumbing operations, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with dispatch to maximize plumbing service opportunities and technician utilization.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily field operations and technician performance.
- Work closely with the dispatch team by answering technical questions and assisting with assigning the appropriate technician for each job.
- Review operational procedures and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Conduct job site inspections and quality assurance spot checks.
- Ensure crews are properly stocked with tools, materials, equipment, and safety supplies.
- Maintain high standards for job quality, documentation, and customer communication.
Safety & Compliance
- Coordinate and oversee safety training programs.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety policies.
- Investigate and report incidents, hazards, and near misses.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Fleet, Equipment & Facilities
- Work with the in-house mechanic to ensure vehicles, trailers, equipment, and specialty tools are properly maintained and tracked.
- Ensure the shop, yard, warehouse, and vehicles remain clean, organized, and professional.
- Monitor inventory levels and equipment requirements.
Customer Service
- Support technicians in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assist with resolving customer concerns and technical issues.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, property managers, strata managers, and suppliers.
- Promote professionalism and strong communication throughout all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Plumber Certification (Journeyperson) – Required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the plumbing and drainage industry.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and strata plumbing systems.
- Strong understanding of drainage, hydro-jetting, camera inspections, and excavation operations.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing field staff.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Budget management experience and ability to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage changing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Compensation
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule
- Permanent Full-Time
- Monday to Friday
- 8–10 hour shifts
- Occasional overtime and weekend support as required
