Job Summary
Zodiac Hurricane Technologies in Delta, BC is currently seeking a full-time FRP Technician. This is a permanent Monday to Friday position starting at 6:00 AM, with overtime opportunities available.
As an FRP Technician, you will be part of the Production team working with fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) and carbon fiber materials. Primary responsibilities include composite lay-ups, gel coat application, finishing work, and assembly to produce high-quality products that meet ISO 9001 standards.
We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while meeting production deadlines.
Candidates must have their own basic hand tools and steel-toe safety boots and be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform hand lay-ups while ensuring proper alignment and material thickness.
- Prepare and mask surfaces for gel coating.
- Apply resin and reinforcement materials according to industry standards.
- Prepare surfaces for repair through cleaning, sanding, polishing, and filling imperfections.
- Remove and apply anti-fouling coatings.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Assist with placing boats on jack stands and cradles.
- Assemble components by hand to complete finished products to quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of related experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational or technical training in FRP fabrication, composites, or painting is considered an asset.
- Experience working with FRP, fiberglass, carbon fiber, or composite materials preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and following safety procedures.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
- Manufacturing or production experience is preferred.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Steel-toe safety boots are required.
