The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant Manager & Licensed Funeral Director who delivers consistently high standards of care while supporting the day-to-day operations of the funeral home. Working closely with the Manager, the successful candidate will help ensure services, arrangements, and administrative processes are completed accurately and professionally. This individual will provide compassionate guidance to families while serving as a resource to team members, supporting operational excellence, and helping maintain the high standards of service, professionalism, and care that Kearney Funeral Services is known for. Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, sensitive environment are essential.
This position requires a high level of compassion and a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys supporting families and working collaboratively with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess a strong sense of urgency, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English, with additional languages considered an asset, and be capable of meeting the physical requirements of the role.

This is a full-time salaried position, scheduled for 40 hours per week, offering a base salary range of $75,000 to $80,000 annually, a quarterly bonus potential, and eligibility for a comprehensive total rewards package through our self-funded benefits program, including:

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
· Have experience in all types of Funeral related services (Arranging, coordinating of services held in Chapel, Church, Memorial, Visitation, Reception/Catered events, Burial, Cremation, Entombment, Minimum Cremation needs)
· Excellent verbal and written communication in English; other languages are an asset.
· Be naturally empathetic
· Be remarkably organized with the ability to manage time efficiently yet effectively
· Be able to complete the physical demands of the job
· Be dedicated, caring and service driven
· Have a good demeanor and professional outlook
· Be an excellent communicator and team player
· Hold themselves to a high standard of service

· Not be afraid of doing other important tasks (cleaning vehicles, assisting with clerical duties as required etc)
· Have a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekends
· Have a Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record

Compensation (including bonuses and benefits) is competitive and will be tailored to match the qualification and skill of the individual applicant.
A BC Funeral Directors license is preferred, however for the right candidate, we will facilitate licensing transfer requirements.
