Our client is General Mills. Your role is to identify business development opportunities to drive sales within an assigned geographical territory.

The Role: Team Lead Retail Sales Representative for General Mills/Blue Buffalo - North Vancouver Territory - 40 HRS/WEEK - 62,000$/year

Position Summary:

Encore is looking to identify top talent with a background in the CPG space to help spearhead our continuing growth in the new year. This future opportunity involves spearheading our business growth and entails leading and training a team of part-time sales and merchandising representatives within your designated territory. As a Team Lead, your primary focus is to coach and develop your team, ensuring they meet call coverage objectives, enhance product distribution and visibility, execute brand priorities, and cultivate strong relationships with key store contacts. Your dedication to your team's success drives our success in the competitive CPG world.

Ideally, you’re no stranger to the world of outsourced sales and merchandising and you know the grocery channel like the back of your hand. You provide uncompromising quality of service in everything you do.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead your team to meet objectives which will include developing strong relationships with department managers and increasing sales of the product brands through sales and merchandising activities
Delivering on sales targets for the clients product lines within designated banners within the territory geographic area
Effectively communicate retail priorities to your team
Ensure optimal call coverage/frequency is maintained (Territory worksheets completed & optimized)
Spend 50% to 60% of your time in field training & supporting your team
Lead retail sales during seasonal activations, ensure staff launch display and distribution efforts to enable each brand to reach its targets
Review performance reports to ensure that objectives are being met and put plans in place if they are not
Provide initial and ongoing training, which will require travel across the region as required
Maintain ongoing communication with the retail team. (Voice Mails, Emails, Conference calls)
Track Rep call averages, daily activities, and success against objectives – full utilization of the tools provided in tracking your reps
Maintain a partnership and regular communication with client contacts
Provide feedback and insights on field coverage on a regular basis
Participate in development, planning and running/execution of Regional Retail sales meetings
Lead the informal and formal performance development process of your team members

Your Experience:

Ideally 1-3 years of territory sales and merchandising experience in CPG
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Amazing relationship building skills
Strong selling skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to influence/lead change
Strong personal drive, positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills are essential
Aptitude for fast learning, careful strategic planning and ability to self-support with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
