We are hiring Quality Control Technologist in Brockville, ON.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products delivered to clients meet defined specifications and are free from defects. This role also ensures that materials and products received from suppliers comply with company’s quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in improving product reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and supplier quality performance.
The Quality Control Technologist supports warranty analysis, prepares customer quality reports, assists with corrective action initiatives, and represents the Corporate Quality Manager when required. The role may also include special projects as assigned.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Inspection and Quality Control
- Perform routine inspections of incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished products using approved drawings, inspection plans, and sampling methods.
- Review and validate supplier documentation, including certificates of compliance.
- Document inspection results and escalate quality issues in a timely manner.
- Control, identify, quarantine, and track non-conforming materials and products in line with established nonconformance procedures.
- Support First Article Inspection and First Article Approval activities for production parts.
- Ensure inspection tools, gauges, and fixtures are properly calibrated and maintained.
- Confirm that assembly and testing activities follow approved work instructions and quality standards.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare, review, and maintain quality records such as Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, First Article Inspection reports, First Article Approval reports, and waiver requests.
- Maintain accuracy, traceability, and compliance of all quality-related documentation and records.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data for quality metrics and performance reporting.
Manufacturing and Supplier Support
- Work closely with production teams to investigate defects and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Participate in supplier qualification, evaluation, auditing, and development initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on product quality, process efficiency, and waste reduction.
Health and Safety
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
- Comply with provincial occupational health and safety regulations.
Environmental Responsibilities
- Support company environmental objectives and compliance requirements.
- Understand the environmental aspects related to the role and their potential impacts.
- Assist with environmental incident investigations and report environmental concerns as needed.
REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related technology, or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional engineering registration or eligibility (EIT, LEL, or LET minimum).
- At least five years of hands-on experience inspecting metal components and assemblies, or equivalent manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Strong working knowledge of precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
- Experience maintaining inspection records and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly and welding practices; CWB Welding Inspector Level II is considered an asset.
- Experience with supplier audits and quality development is an advantage.
- Familiarity with basic quality and statistical tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, and Gantt charts.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
