Overview
We are looking for a reliable, motivated Farm Operator to join our family owned and operated farm. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to work hands-on with modern farm machinery, horticulture, and general maintenance in a close-knit team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and other large equipment.
- Assist with irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across fields.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm equipment using hand and power tools.
- Carry out planting, fertilizing, watering, and harvesting in line with crop plans and schedules.
- Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping related to crop production.
- Safely lift and move supplies, equipment, and harvested crops as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, following farm safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience or education in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing farm equipment.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic water management practices.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and confidently.
- Experience with maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong physical stamina; comfortable with heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic math skills for measurements and accurate record keeping.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for operating and transporting farm vehicles.
- Strong work ethic, ability to follow safety protocols, and willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
