Job Title: Flux Core Welder
Job Description
Join a team of professional fabricators where you will manufacture high‑quality metal parts and products using advanced flux core welding techniques. You will work on large, complex components, ensuring all work meets stringent quality standards while consistently following established welding procedures, safety regulations, and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities

Perform flux core welding on large and complex metal components in a custom fabrication environment.

Manufacture metal parts and products to meet defined quality and dimensional standards.

Work safely at all times, complying with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines and regulations.

Apply working knowledge of various metals, filler metals, welding parameters, preheat, and interpass temperatures during welding operations.

Follow approved welding procedures and specifications with a high level of accuracy and consistency.

Complete all required quality assurance (QA) documentation and records in a timely and accurate manner.

Work with heavy plate welding applications, including plate and joint thicknesses up to 8 inches and thicker than 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch.

Use 1/16" wire for welding operations as required.

Collaborate with fabricators and other team members to ensure products meet project and customer requirements.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with shop standards.
Essential Skills
-
At least 4 years of flux core (FLUX) welding experience in a custom fabrication environment.

Strong proficiency in flux core welding on mild steel.
-
Demonstrated experience welding heavy plate, including plate and joint thicknesses larger than 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch, up to 8 inches.

Hands-on experience welding with 1/16" wire.

Ability to understand and follow welding procedures and specifications.

Ability to follow all QA requirements and accurately complete required documentation.

Solid experience in structural welding and fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

GTAW (TIG) welding experience is an asset.

Experience with pressure vessel welding is an advantage.

Blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret fabrication and structural steel drawings, are preferred.

Fitting experience in a structural steel or heavy fabrication environment is beneficial.
-
CWB certification is a nice to have but not mandatory.

Work Environment
Work in a large custom fabrication shop that manufactures parts for construction, nuclear, military, and commercial applications. The facility is well lit, clean, and operates in a loud industrial environment typical of heavy fabrication. You will work on a Monday to Thursday swing shift from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. using heavy plate welding equipment and related fabrication tools in a production setting.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
