Who You Are
GFX Solutions is currently searching for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our Operations team in Oakville, Ontario.
In this role, you will lead the facility's quality activities to ensure customer requirements, internal quality standards, and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved. You will provide hands-on leadership on the production floor, support continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with Operations to ensure a world-class product is delivered to our customers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
What You Can Expect from the Role:
The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Supervisor are as follows:
- Maintain a strong and visible presence on the production floor to support quality standards, process compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead daily quality activities and prepare quality reports for internal leadership and customer review as required.
- Train, coach, and support Quality team members on work instructions, inspection processes, quality documentation, and critical vehicle inspection criteria.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve IATF 16949 quality system documentation, including work instructions, process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, audit plans, and related quality records.
- Conduct process audits, layered audits, and vehicle inspections to verify compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain vehicle travellers, inspection check sheets, and quality documentation for new and existing programs.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, warranty concerns, and internal quality issues, ensuring timely corrective action and effective root cause analysis.
- Support customer reporting systems and customer portals, including maintenance of quality documentation and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Plant Leadership, and Operations personnel to ensure First Time Quality objectives are achieved while supporting production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure all work-in-process and non-conforming material is properly identified, segregated, documented, and handled in accordance with company procedures.
- Support compliance with the Environmental Management System and all applicable company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor quality performance metrics, identify areas of concern, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and customer concerns.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), company safety policies, and safe operating procedures.
- Provide employees with appropriate instruction, training, and supervision related to workplace hazards, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances to protect the health and safety of employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications and Skills Do You Possess?
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Lead, Quality Technician, Quality Coordinator, or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within the automotive industry is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements and automotive quality systems.
- Working knowledge of:
o Root Cause Analysis
o PFMEA
o Control Plans
o Quality Audits
o Containment and GP-12 activities
o Trial Runs, PTRs, and PERs
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence

Daily Working Conditions Present/Expected
- Manufacturing/production environment requiring regular leadership presence on the production floor.
- Frequent exposure to industrial manufacturing processes, automotive vehicles, chemicals, robotics, and weather elements.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
- Must comply with all company policies, procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
