At Comtek you will learn the necessary skills to work on aircraft components.
Job Description
To perform high quality composite and sheet metal repairs/manufacturing while maintaining safety and productivity. To continually increase knowledge and proficiency in the field of composites. Carry out composite and sheet metal repairs/manufacturing in accordance with company technical data, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
· Perform composite repair/manufacturing tasks such as trim, drill, routing, scarfing, bonding, riveting, lamination, sheet metal fabrication and component assembly
· Carry out composite and sheet metal repairs and/or manufacturing
· Follow standard work, work order instruction and applicable technical data, processes, and procedures
· Follow safety procedures when handling composite/metallic material and ensure tools/equipment are maintained and operated in a safe manner
· Ensure material traceability, applicable signoffs and labour postings are maintained during the part fabrication/repair process
· Ensure Lean/5S practices are followed at all times as well as maintaining a clean organized workspace
· Ability to interpret basic instruction via detailed drawings/work instructions
Requirements
· Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
· Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
· Previous experience in a composite and sheet metal repair/manufacturing would be an asset
· Diploma or Certificate from a College/University program related to an Aviation Structures Technician would be an asset
