Reports to: Floral Arranger Supervisor
Position Overview
The Lead Production Floral Arranger is responsible for producing high-quality floral arrangements, bouquets, seasonal designs, and other floral products in a fast-paced production environment. This role supports daily production needs while assisting the Supervisor with holiday coverage, menu substitutions, promotional designs, and oversight of the Design team.
Key Responsibilities
Duties consistent with the position of Lead Production Floral Arranger include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership
· Oversee and support training of team members in Value Added production duties, including floral arrangement standards, bouquet production, product handling, quality expectations, and workflow procedures.
· Coach team members during shifts by providing task-level guidance, supporting production priorities, and ensuring daily goals are met efficiently and consistently.
· Support daily Value Added operations by helping the team stay organized, efficient, and aligned with production schedules, seasonal demands, and design priorities.
· Assist the Supervisor with holiday coverage, menu substitutions, promotional designs, seasonal programs, and oversight of the Design team.
· Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and department leads to maintain workflow, resolve production-related questions, and support a positive, team-oriented work environment.
· Encourage learning, collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement within the Value Added team.
· Provide leadership support in the absence of the supervisor, corresponding with management and department leads as needed, including, but not limited to:
o Maintain workflow and communication between Value Added, Design, and related departments.
o Track team member hours and break times as required.
o Provide a daily shift summary of completed tasks, production priorities.
· All personnel matters, including training procedure changes, performance evaluation, and employee relations/conflict mediation, are to be directed to the attention of the VA Supervisor or Value Added Manager.
Floral Production and Design
· Produce floral arrangements, bouquets, seasonal designs, and other floral products efficiently according to work orders and designer specifications.
· Ensure arrangements meet quality, freshness, presentation, and customer expectations.
· Support menu substitutions and create designs for promotions as required.
· Apply strong floral design knowledge to maintain consistent standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Safety and Housekeeping
· Follow all safety protocols while working with floral products, tools, materials, and equipment.
· Use appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
· Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and manufacturing floral products as required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced production environment.
· Comfortable handling fragile and perishable floral products with care.
· Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when required based on operational and seasonal needs.
Work Schedule
General work hours are Sunday through Friday, with an average 8-hour shift between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Specific schedules will be determined in agreement with the team member based on availability and business needs. The schedule may be subject to change based on operational and seasonal requirements at the sole discretion of management.
Qualifications
· Must have over 5 years of floral arrangement experience in a fast-paced, high-volume flower shop or production department.
· Knowledge of floral products and ability to identify quality issues preferred.
· Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
· Ability to work under pressure, remain self-motivated, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
· Familiarity with basic computer programs and software. Ability to learn internal systems.
· Previous experience in bouquet production or a similar environment is advantageous.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
