About Tea Tree Gardens
Tea Tree Gardens is a professional landscape maintenance and horticultural services company based in Vancouver, BC. We provide recurring garden and lawn care, hedge trimming, seasonal treatments, and skilled project work for residential clients. We use exclusively organic products, run over 50% electric tools, and operate small crews of 2-3 per vehicle on beautiful residential properties throughout Metro Vancouver.
We are known for high-quality horticultural work, attention to detail, and maintaining some of Vancouver's finest residential gardens.
The Role
We're hiring experienced Hedge Trimming & Fine Pruning Technicians to join our specialty horticulture division.
This is not a basic landscaping position. We're looking for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, understand plant structure, and can consistently deliver clean, professional results on high-end residential properties.
You'll be responsible for precision hedge trimming, ornamental shrub pruning, small tree shaping, and specialty horticultural work. The ideal candidate has strong plant identification skills, understands seasonal pruning practices, and enjoys producing visually exceptional results.
This is a seasonal position running from February through mid-December.
What You'll Do
Perform precision hedge trimming on formal and informal hedges
Prune ornamental shrubs and small trees according to species-specific best practices
Shape topiary, specimen plants, and specialty landscape features
Assess plant health and identify pruning requirements
Operate professional hedge trimmers, pole trimmers, pruning saws, and hand tools safely
Work independently or alongside a small crew to complete scheduled work
Maintain high standards of detail and workmanship on every property
Accurately track completed work and communicate site observations
Care for and maintain company equipment
Communicate professionally with clients when required
What We're Looking For
2+ years of professional hedge trimming, pruning, or horticultural experience
Strong plant identification knowledge
Understanding of proper pruning techniques and seasonal timing
Experience shaping formal hedges and ornamental shrubs
Ability to recognize plant health concerns and make informed pruning decisions
Valid Class 5 driver's license preferred
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality standards
Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
Reliable, professional, and self-motivated
ISA Arborist certification or horticultural education is an asset

Monday to Friday Schedule
7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. No weekends. Predictable schedule.
