Lead Handyman & Workman job description
Imagine Pro Renovators is a new fast growing company committed to residential construction and restoration . Our goal is to provide budget friendly residential construction projects on time to our clients. Our primary focus is to assist insurance companies with restoration projects. We’re seeking a Lead handy man to take ownership of each project. Must be reliable, can do drywall and plaster, flooring and painting but be flexible to all parts of construction project. Must strive for excellence and have a time focused approach to their craft. This person will be responsible for working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all building codes and bylaw standards, regulations, and codes. We’re searching for someone who has experience leading a team and can understand blueprints.
Objectives of this role & Responsibilities
· Participate in all aspects of construction projects, from foundation to finish work
· Have over 3-5 years’ experience in general renovation and have general knowledge or aptitude to learn framing, flooring, tiling, basic plumbing, drywall install, taping and painting, trim work, etc.
· Utilize and read blueprints to work through construction projects
· Perform work safely by following all standards for performance
· Function as part of a collaborative effort, and work closely with other team members and construction industry professionals
· Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
· Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards and ensure day-to-day safety, and keep tools and equipment in good working condition
· Load and unload materials, and identify and distribute them to appropriate locations
· Operate tools and machinery according to project plans and specifications
· Provide assistance to contractors (ex: craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
Required skills and qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to perform strenuous physical labor
· Basic math and measurement skills
· Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Experience as a foreman or constrution lead in the construction industry
Preferred skills and qualifications
· 3-5 years minimum in general construction with preference to plastering and painting
· Experience with some flooring, painting, drywall, plaster and other skills
· Familiarity with how to read blueprints
