Our Dog Walkers provide daily off leash group walks for clients in a variety of Calgary neighborhoods. From initial meet and greets with clients, providing safe transport, supervising play, practicing skill reinforcement, and documenting each dog’s daily adventure on an app, every day is fun and will allow you to utilize a variety of different skills!
Candidates must be comfortable handling and love dogs of all breeds and sizes, with a willingness to develop your handling skills and proficiency in canine communication and play styles. You will be responsible for ensuring off-leash safety of all dogs in your charge. You will document each dog’s experience to ensure clients are being provided an accurate reflection of how their pet progresses through their experience with you and other dogs while in your care. Your overall role is to provide exceptional service to our clients and a safe, positive social outlet for their pet.
Required Competencies:
- Carry a valid class 5 driver’s license with at least 2 years of continued driver’s history and no at fault collisions, demerits (distracted driving), or suspensions
- Be bondable, provide a clear police background clearance
- Have a natural enjoyment of the outdoors in all weather conditions
- Can lift 60 lbs
- Have the physical capacity to walk 2-3 hours and drive up to 4 hours per day, 5 times a week
- Leave our clients feeling valued, heard, and comfortable choosing us as a care provider for their best friend with confidence that their pet is in capable hands
- Attentive and timely interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent professional references that will reflect your reliability, trustworthiness and success working independently
- Efficient time management and prioritization skills
- Basic computer skill (Word, Outlook, mobile apps, social media, etc) and excellent grammar and communication skills that meet brand standards and demonstrate professionalism when communicating with clients.
- Pride in appearance and self-presentation
Role Responsibilities
- Walk dogs, on and off leash, for a minimum of 3 km per walk, twice a day.
- Supervise play, practice skill reinforcement, engage dogs while on walks.
- Provide daily progress updates for every dog you care for on provided software
- Ensure each pet’s progress and daily updates are tracked and recorded
- Maintain the regular cleanliness and maintenance of the corporate vehicle
- Ensure all required materials are noted and communicated for stocking and restocking as required
- Openness to support different departments, responsibilities or initiatives when needed
- Support the on boarding and training of new Dog Walking Specialists as needed
Compensation:
- Hourly, full time, Monday to Friday.
- Fully equipped vehicle with maintenance and gas supplied and maintained by Calgary Dog Walkers
