Join Our Culinary Team!

Great Events Catering is looking for a reliable, motivated, and passionate Prep / Line Cook to join our growing culinary team. This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing quality food, and thrives as part of a professional kitchen team.

As one of Calgary's leading catering companies, we prepare and execute a wide variety of events, from corporate functions and weddings to large-scale festivals and special events.

Position Details

Position: Prep / Line Cook
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
Perform vegetable, meat, and other food preparation tasks.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
Cook and prepare menu items according to company standards and recipes.
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all food products.
Assist with banquet, catering, and event food production.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to supervisors.
Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
Assist with loading, unloading, and event preparation when required.
Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and service teams to ensure successful event execution.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook, or similar culinary position.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Food Safety Certification is considered an asset.
Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
