The Opportunity:
We are looking for a dedicated, eager and experienced Concrete Placer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for placing, and leveling concrete at construction sites, specifically focusing on residential walls and footing placement. This role involves working with various tools and techniques to ensure high-quality concrete surfaces that meet project specifications while adhering to Alberta's safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Place, level, and finish concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques to specified depths and levels in walls and footings.
· Operate vibratory equipment to remove air pockets and ensure proper concrete compaction.
· Prepare job sites by setting up forms, reinforcements, and layouts as per project plans.
· Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
· Ensure compliance with Alberta safety regulations (e.g., OH&S Act, WHMIS) and company policies.
· Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
· Monitor and address environmental factors such as temperature, wind, and humidity that affect concrete curing.
· Perform cleanup and site restoration after project completion.
· Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in concrete placement or a related role.
· Knowledge of concrete properties, tools, and techniques for placement and finishing.
· Familiarity with safety practices and regulations in Alberta.
· Willingness to work flexible hours, early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends based on project needs.
· Basic mechanical knowledge for operating power tools and equipment
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise concrete work.
· Ability to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
· Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and finishes.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in construction safety.
· Previous experience working as a concrete laborer or in a similar construction role is preferred.
· Experienced with specialized concrete finishing techniques.
· Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction documents.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in concrete placement or construction-related roles.
Physical Requirements:
· Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds),
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling and standing for extended periods.
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Stamina for extended work hours during busy project timelines.
· Working safely at heights.
Skills and Abilities:
· Proficiency in using concrete placement and finishing tools.
· Strong attention to detail to ensure high-end quality finishes.
· Time management skills to meet project deadlines.
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
License/Certification:
· Certification in construction safety.
· Experienced with specialized concrete finishing techniques.
· Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction documents.
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
