Roles & Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a leading business lawyer to join our team of motivated, entrepreneurial professionals.
As a skilled business lawyer, you would join a small, capable group, working with clients from startups to multinational corporations.
This critical role in Langford Law’s continued success and growth would be accountable for:
- Contributing to the growth and diversity of a successful business law practice;
- Delivering quality corporate and commercial legal advice, documents and transaction services; and
- Mentoring and receiving support from junior business lawyers.
Candidate Education, Experience and Attributes:
The successful candidate will have quality training, diverse experience and exceptional skills for legal advice, documents and transactions, including:
Education
- LL.B. or J.D. degree from a faculty of common law at a Canadian university or equivalent qualification; and
- Active Member of the Law Society of Alberta (or eligibility for membership).
Experience
Minimum of 5 years, but preferably 10+ years of experience as a business lawyer focused on corporate and commercial law. Practice areas could include mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financial services, commercial transactions, commercial real estate, tax or other areas. Expectations include:
- Leading practice in the area of corporate and commercial law;
- Established client base that would transition with you; and
- Ability to provide legal services to existing and new clients of Langford Law.
