What You’ll Do
As an Electromechanical Maintenance & Controls Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the equipment and systems that support our manufacturing operation.
This role has a strong focus on electrical systems, machine controls, automation, and equipment troubleshooting, but it is not a dedicated electrician position. The successful candidate will also perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment installations, pneumatic system repairs, facility maintenance, and general production support activities.
You will play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting the continued growth of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Controls Systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, automation, and control systems on production equipment.
- Diagnose issues involving sensors, relays, contactors, motor starters, VFDs, servo systems, and other industrial controls.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Install, wire, terminate, and commission power and control circuits for new and existing equipment.
- Support upgrades and improvements to production equipment and facility electrical systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
Equipment Maintenance & Mechanical Repair
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC equipment and production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including bearings, drive systems, pneumatic components, linear rails, ball screws, and other machine components.
- Replace wear components such as saw blades, belts, motors, and machine tooling.
- Perform machine adjustments, alignments, and repairs to improve reliability and performance.
Facility & Pneumatic Systems
- Maintain and repair facility systems including compressed air, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic cylinders, valves, regulators, airlines, and associated components.
- Support facility electrical distribution systems including panel boards, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers (MCCs).
Fabrication & Continuous Improvement
- Fabricate or modify machine components as required using available shop tools and equipment.
- Assist with equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and productivity.
Tool & Inventory Management
- Maintain organized maintenance work areas and tool storage.
- Track and manage spare parts inventory.
- Order replacement parts and consumables as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, machine documentation, and equipment manuals.
Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate external contractors and equipment service providers as needed with management approval.
What You Bring
We welcome candidates with backgrounds in industrial maintenance, electromechanical systems, automation, controls, electrical technology, millwright trades, or related fields.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving industrial electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Experience working with VFDs, motor controls, sensors, relays, contactors, and machine control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience maintaining and repairing production equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on maintenance work.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the workday.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
