Seeking the next valued team member!
Are you a Civil Engineer ready to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful impact on water, wastewater, stormwater, earthworks, and civil infrastructure projects? At Journey Engineering, we are committed to creating value for our clients. We deliver practical engineering solutions that help take projects from concept through design, construction, and operation. We partner with our clients to build assets that work.
Due to our continued growth, we are excited to expand our team with an Intermediate Civil Engineer who has experience in municipal, industrial, and private sector infrastructure projects. This role is suited for someone with a strong technical foundation in water resources, landfills engineering, stormwater drainage, site grading, water storage reservoirs, site servicing, earthworks, utilities, and/or civil infrastructure design.
As an Intermediate Civil Engineer, your work will include preparing engineering studies and designs, including water and wastewater utilities, stormwater facilities, earth dams, ponds, roads and grading plans, and landfills. Your duties include drawing and specification preparation, construction contract administration, field reviews, and coordination with project teams, clients, contractors, and regulators. You may also project manage and support project managers, coordinate tasks for junior staff, and mentor developing technical team members as your skills and experience grow.
At Journey Engineering, you won’t just be another engineer; you’ll be a key player in projects that matter in a supportive environment that encourages everyone to be the best they can be.

- Coordinate assigned tasks with multidisciplinary project teams, including civil, water resources, structural, geotechnical, environmental, survey, drafting, and construction support staff.
- Complete technical design and document preparation using applicable engineering standards, client requirements, municipal servicing standards, and practical constructability considerations.
- Undertake and support construction administration, field reviews, site inspections, quantity tracking, deficiency reviews, progress payment support, and responses to contractor questions as required.
- Review work completed by junior staff and provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Assist with proposal preparation, client relationship development, and identifying opportunities to support Journey’s continued growth.
