Early Childhood Educator (ECE Level 3) – Maternity Leave Contract

Contract Dates: July 2, 2026 – June 30, 2027

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Level 3 Early Childhood Educator who strives for excellence, demonstrates empathy, and is committed to creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record keeping
Plan and implement an emergent curriculum based on children’s interests
Support children’s emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being
Foster development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains
Conduct attendance tracking and health & safety checks
Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Early Interventionists) as required
Support children through daily transitions within the classroom
Actively participate in team meetings and professional development workshops

Specifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
Strong computer skills for documentation and classroom operations
Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
Ability to take initiative and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Qualifications

Valid Alberta ECE Level 3 Certification (required)
Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Current Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 lbs
