Business Development & Project CoordinatorAbout the Position
We are currently seeking a motivated and highly organized Business Development & Project Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building client relationships, supporting project coordination, and helping drive business growth within the construction, design, prefabrication, and engineering sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, project teams, clients, and external stakeholders to support proposals, coordinate project deliverables, assist with schedules and timelines, and help identify new business opportunities. While technical knowledge of BIM, construction, or design workflows is considered an asset, this role is primarily focused on business development, client coordination, communication, and project support.
This is a full-time, in-office position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Support business development activities, including client outreach, relationship management, proposal coordination, and follow-up communications
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new project opportunities in residential, commercial, modular, prefab, and construction-related markets
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are clearly understood
- Assist in managing team schedules, project timelines, and deliverable tracking to ensure deadlines are met
- Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, project documentation, and client-facing materials
- Participate in client meetings, project coordination meetings, and internal planning sessions
- Help maintain strong communication between business development, project management, design, and technical teams
- Track project opportunities, client communications, and follow-up actions using tools such as Smartsheet, Procore, CRM platforms, or similar systems
- Support project coordination workflows, including documentation, scheduling, task tracking, and stakeholder communication
- Assist with the coordination of BIM, drafting, design, or fabrication deliverables where required
- Help ensure project information is accurate, organized, and communicated effectively across teams
- Contribute to process improvements related to business development, project coordination, and client service
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in business development, project coordination, client relations, construction coordination, or a related role
- Degree or diploma in Business, Commerce, Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, prefabrication, modular construction, manufacturing, or design-related industries is considered an asset
- Strong client-facing, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience supporting proposals, sales processes, project documentation, or client communications
- Working knowledge of project coordination and management tools such as Smartsheet, CRM systems, or similar platforms
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks and follow-through
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with BIM, drafting, construction documentation, shop drawings, fabrication packages, or project delivery workflows is considered an asset
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Tekla, or other design and coordination software
Preferred Experience
- Business development experience in construction, design, engineering, modular, prefab, or manufacturing environments
- Experience preparing proposals, presentations, estimates, or client-facing documents
- Familiarity with project coordination workflows, construction schedules, and stakeholder management
- Understanding of BIM processes, construction drawings, shop drawings, or fabrication deliverables
- Experience working with residential, commercial, wood-frame, prefab, modular, or MEP-related projects
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, relationship builder, and organized coordinator who can support both client-facing business development activities and internal project execution. You are comfortable speaking with clients, following up on opportunities, coordinating information between teams, and helping projects move forward efficiently.
The ideal candidate has a history in construction work, and can operate CAD.
