The Opportunity:
AMHSA is seeking an experienced occupational health and safety professional to join our COR team for a five-month contract. Reporting to the Program Evaluation Manager, the Management System Business Partner will provide technical support for AMHSA's Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program, with a primary focus on Quality Assurance activities, audit reviews, auditor support, and program administration.
The successful candidate will work closely with employers, auditors, and internal staff to promote consistent application of Partnerships Standards, support certification activities, and contribute to the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of Alberta's provincial COR Program.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Audit Reviews
- Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of COR audits to ensure compliance with Partnerships Standards and audit requirements.
- Assess audit reports for consistency, accuracy, and quality.
- Identify trends, provide constructive feedback, and recommend improvements.
- Support QA Analysts through calibration activities and quality improvement initiatives.
2. Auditor & Employer Support
- Respond to technical inquiries from auditors and employers.
- Provide guidance regarding COR requirements, certification pathways, sampling, and audit processes.
- Support auditor qualification, ongoing development, and certification activities.
3. COR Program Administration
- Support the day-to-day administration of the COR Program.
- Maintain operational records, technical resources, and program documentation.
- Monitor and coordinate inquiries received through the COR Audits inbox.
- Assist with certification and program administration activities.
4. Resource Development & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in updating technical guidance documents, templates, and reference materials.
- Support improvements to quality assurance processes and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the development of practical resources for auditors and employers.
5. Project & Governance Support
- Support Government Quality Assurance activities and implementation of provincial program changes.
- Participate in assigned projects that support continuous improvement of the COR Program.
- Represent AMHSA on committees or working groups as assigned.
6. Communications & Knowledge Resources
- Develop technical communications, newsletters, guidance documents, and website resources.
- Maintain program resource libraries and support awareness initiatives.
- Research emerging legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
7. Data Analysis & Program Reporting
- Analyze program data to identify trends and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Prepare reports and recommendations that support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- A designation (CRSP, CSP etc) or working towards is considered an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health and safety, management systems, auditing, quality assurance, program administration, or a related field.
- Experience interpreting legislation, standards, and technical requirements.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, technical resources, or learning materials.
- Experience leading projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Alberta's Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program is considered an asset.

Pay: $45.60-$65.90 per hour
