Reporting to the QA Manager - Operations, the Student (Quality Assurance) - Contract will focus primarily on Quality Assurance and Food Safety, and will involve quality checks and temperature monitoring in order to ensure food safety and quality products.
This is an existing position within the company on a contract basis through December 31, 2026.
Shift: Monday - Friday - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

What you will be doing:
1. Verifies that plant practices and/or product related to the assigned plant area are compliant to the customer and the Company’s requirements and recommends solutions to obtain the best quality products. Follow up with appropriate parties to ensure that corrective actions are taken where the product does not meet MLF and/or customer requirements.
2. Monitors the assigned area (department) to ensure that employees are compliant to Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices and records the results as well as corrective actions, if deviations occur.
3. Monitors and records all assigned tasks and completes the associated records in a timely manner (as close to real time as possible) to ensure that all related documents, including product specification documents, are comprehensive, up to date, and compliant with company policies and practices.
4. Monitors and verifies the CCPs related to the assigned department.
5. Provides daily information to the QA Supervisor and/or Manager with respect to results and progress in the area where assigned in the plant.

What you will bring:
Necessary Knowledge and Experience

No previous experience is required;
-
Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;

Some experience in statistical analysis is preferred.

General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) inclusive of working with medium datasets.

Ability to work in a slaughter, raw and cooked poultry processing environment.

Relevant food processing experience is considered an asset.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and multitasks are essential for success in this role.
Education and Certification Requirements

Enrolled in a Post Secondary education program.
