Job Title: Counter Attendant

Wage:$18 per hour

Employment Type: [Full-time / Part-time / Casual]

Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and customer-focused Counter Attendant to join our team at a busy Chinese restaurant. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle orders accurately, and ensure a welcoming front-of-house experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers warmly and take food orders in person and over the phone
Accurately input orders into the POS system and process payments (cash, debit, credit)
Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and specials
Package takeout and delivery orders efficiently and neatly
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, dining space, and beverage stations
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation
Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
Restock supplies such as utensils, napkins, sauces, and beverages
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Qualifications:

Previous experience in customer service or food service is an asset, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Basic math skills for handling transactions
Reliability and punctuality
Ability to stand for extended periods
Familiarity with Chinese cuisine or menu items
Experience using a POS system
Multilingual abilities (e.g., English, Mandarin, Cantonese) are an asset
Requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
