The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) has an immediate opportunity for a Pediatrician to join the Department of Pediatrics at the North Island Comox Valley Hospital in the oceanfront community of Comox.

The North Island Comox Valley Hospital is a beautiful facility that opened in October 2017. There are 153 inpatient beds and the hospital serves a population of approximately 66,000 people, and is a referral center for some surgical specialties. In addition to Pediatrics, there are a broad range of consultants including Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, Radiology and Family Medicine.

The successful candidate will share call (1:4)

We have an academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) postgraduate programs and are a teaching hospital. We have a Family Practice Residency Program and are involved in both medical student and residency teaching

Located in the north central region of Vancouver Island the seaside Town of Comox, along with the neighbouring communities of Courtenay and Cumberland, comprises one of the fastest growing areas on the island. The Comox Valley, home to Vancouver Island's pre-eminent ski resort of Mt. Washington, is also the gateway to Strathcona Park and the Desolation Sound group of Islands. The recreational options here are endless, and well complemented by thriving arts and culture communities and a wide array of boutiques, restaurants and fine dining. Known for its abundant wildlife, it is a place where you can ski, golf, fish, and go to the theatre, all in the same day.
