Underhill Geomatics is a progressive land surveying firm with offices in the Lower Mainland, on Vancouver Island, Kamloops, Fort St. John, and Whitehorse. Underhill is seeking a Survey Field Technician to join our team for a large-scale infrastructure project in the Campbell River area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile project scheduled for the next three years, with the potential to transition into a long-term role working out of Campbell River for Underhill on Vancouver Island.
You would be joining a great team of professionals with one of the longest practicing land surveying companies in Western Canada.
Duties include:
- Perform Topographic, layout, and as-built surveys
- Perform control and high-precision surveys
- Utilize Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and 3D scanners for precise field measurements and data collection
- Conduct RPAS (UAV/drone) surveys, bathymetric surveys, and automated total station work with BCLS Project Managers
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in data collection and processing
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years working at a Crew Chief level in the survey industry.
- Experience with Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total Station, and 3D scanning is an asset but not required.
- Advanced RPAS License, or ability to obtain, assistance provided.
- Familiarity with TBC, StarNet, and Civil 3D is an asset but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field
- A team player with problem-solving skills

We have an experienced, and innovative team working on a project within driving distance of Campbell River, as well as the potential to be involved in other projects on Vancouver Island.
