Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth operation at the front desk. This role requires proficiency in handling various administrative tasks while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
Schedule and confirm appointments using Power Practice software.
Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
Process patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
Handle billing and insurance verification, including understanding terminology related to dental procedures.
Post insurance and patient payments to appropriate patient accounts.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Work as a "team" player, helping other reception staff when necessary.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office is an asset.
Proficiency in Power Practice or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Familiarity with phone systems, office machines and general office procedures is essential.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
