Job Title

Children’s Ministry Lead and Church Administrative Assistant

Location: Camrose, Alberta

Employment Type: Full Time - 30 hrs per week

Salary Range: $20-22 per hour

Job Summary

We have a strong desire to better serve young people in our church and to be a place which is more inviting for young families. At the same time, we want to continue serving all ages of the Camrose community by being available on a regular basis. The Children’s Ministry Lead and Church Administrative Assistant position combines two part-time roles into one full-time position. About half your time will be spent preparing for and leading children’s ministries on a weekly basis. The other half of your time will consist of administrative tasks in the office and being a welcoming presence to all who drop by the church building.

The successful candidate will be accountable to and supervised by the Lead Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and grow our small children’s ministry and volunteer base.

This will require excellent communication, management of curriculum, ensuring child protection policies are followed, trainings are up to date, and looking for outreach and engagement opportunities in our community.

· Monitoring office communications (email, phone calls, mail).

· Keep church up to date with deadlines and bills.

· Consistent presence in the church office for visitors.

· Work with staff and congregation to support the ministries of the church.

Required Qualifications

· A heart for leading ministry to children and ability to maintain and oversee volunteers.

· A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a desire to learn and grow in your Christian life, and agreement with Church of God statement of faith.

· Experience in Christian ministry to children.

· Organizational skills and proficiency in administrative assistant tasks.

· Ability to use Microsoft apps and commonly-used office equipment. Other software skills are an asset.

· Post-secondary education is an asset, but not a requirement.

Work Schedule

Sunday - Thursday, 30 hours per week.

On weekdays start/end time may be negotiable and somewhat flexible.

Three weeks of paid vacation.
